Lori Blake

Originally from Colorado, Lori moved to Alaska in 2012 and is employed by the
Municipality of Anchorage’s Planning Department.

Her life’s passion has always been everything equine, from competing in reining
and cutting horse events to driving draft horses and mules in Denver’s National
Western Stock Show. She has spent many years volunteering and fostering for a
variety of animal rescues and shelters. Hobbies include fishing, riding horses,
and metal detecting for anything of value.

The training received while volunteering for AWBRC has provided Lori with
only a portion of the knowledge it requires to operate a wildbird rehabilitation
facility. She hopes to continue AWBRC’s goal to care for injured, orphaned,
and sick wild birds and return them to the wild.
