Virgie Thompson

I am a 35-year resident in the city of Houston, AK. I have had the privilege to support this community by being Mayor of this great city for 12 years. I retired as Mayor in the fall of 2022. As Mayor I was able to work with Alaska WildBird Rehabilitation Center to secure the property currently leased, where the center is now located.

My goal as a board member is to provide support in the further expansion of this great facility. I also hope to become trained to handle the center’s residents and help to pursue funding in the future. As a board member I also believe it is important to utilize the facility for education purposes for our youth and adults.

If you have questions of me, please reach out anytime [email protected]
