Happy New Year

1/4/2020

Magpie
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year from all of us at the Alaska WildBird Rehabilitation Center!
We had a busy and productive year in 2019 and we look forward to an exciting 2020!
To our volunteers, thank you, for committing your time and talents; without you we simply couldn't survive!

To our many donors and sponsors, thank you for your generous donations. We appreciate your continued support and contributions to support our mission.

Soon you will see a delightful plaque over the Center door, in memory of Dr. Jim Leach, for his service as a Board member and as our veterinarian. Thank you, Jim. We miss you!

We head into 2020 with exciting challenges and a clear focus to expand the number of our education bird ambassadors and develop new presentations for public events and school programs.

Watch for specific ways on how you can help us accomplish these goals!

May you have a rewarding and prosperous 2020!

With deepest thanks,
Jill Parson, President, Board of Directors

Volunteers are amazing!

Center gets a new mew...

Picture
In mid-July we were excited to have the volunteer services of an amazing group of 7 from the City Church of Charlottesville, Virginia.  These energetic and dedicated young folks came to Alaska to offer their services to a non-profit for a 4-day project.  We had a difficult mission: to construct a 12' x 16' outdoor bird mew (cage) to be used by a future education bird.  They started with a set of plans from our retired engineer volunteer, a pile of lumber, tools some of them had never used before and a skilled building volunteer to direct the project.  But with determination and willingness to work hard and learn, they got all the major structure completed!  All of us at Alaska WildBird Center are incredibly grateful for their contribution.

New Homepage Format

7/24/2019

To help the Center communicate and share their great work we are trying out a blog format.  This will allow multiple people to post, it will be easier to share photos, and to announce events.
In typical blog style, the newest post will be at the top.  Be sure to scroll down to see older posts.

Here are a couple of our summer guests.
